Switching out of S mode in Windows
I'm looking at buying a laptop for my daughter which comes with Windows 10 S installed. I have no intention of leaving it like this, and will switch out of S mode straight away.
However, according to the Microsoft website I still won't be able to install 64 bit apps -. If you make this switch, it's permanent, and bit x64 apps still won't run. Can anyone confirm whether this is correct. I want to be able to install whatever games or progams I choose. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Hi Canton I have switched many PC's and laptops out of S Mode and have never had any difficulty installing 32bit or 64bit apps provided the PC is 64bit, you can check that by going to Settings - System - About, and check the processor is 64bit.
